Eucalyptus regnans was introduced in Chile during the nineteen sixties by the Forestry Institute (INFOR) along with other species of eucalyptus.

Its outstanding growth and tree form plus references from Australia about its excellent timber quality lead a Chile family owned forestry Co. Today called Regnans Ltd, to start planting the species early in 1984.

Today there are over 1000 Ha of Plantation Chilean Ash ages from 1 to 25 years, ongoing planting of saplings ensures long term future supply of Plantation Chilean Ash.
